Mary E. Wright

Mary E. Wright, 77, of Pekin, IL passed away at 9:49 PM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at her sisters home. Mary was born on December 29, 1944 in Thorne, MS to Thomas D. and Regina I. (Clark) Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Mark Young and brother-in-law, Ernest Wieburg. Surviving are: three daughters, Julie Young of Manito, IL, Jill (Rodney) Humes of Peoria, IL and Jodi (Chuck) Behymer of Deland, FL; four grandchildren, Zac Young, Maggie Chrisman, Brennan Humes and Josh Behymer; three great grandchildren, Charleigh Chrisman, Xavier Young and Vedder Young; one sister, Brenda Wieburg of Pekin. Mary was an administrative assistant for the Tazewell County Regional Superintendents office for twenty-eight years retiring in 2013. She was involved with the Tazewell County GED program for many years and was a member of Pekin Church of Christ. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading and shopping. She loved to attend the activities of her grandchildren and nephews. Rescued Dachshunds had a special place in her heart. Private graveside services will be held Friday, July 29th at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Marys arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to TAPS, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
