Mary L. Whiteman

Mary L. Whiteman, 86, of 1227 Royal Ave. Pekin passed away at 8:50 pm Friday, February 29, 2008 at Pekin Hospital. Mary was born in Roseland, Kansas on June 8, 1921 to Frank and Julia (Cashero) Arthur. She married James Hershel Whiteman on January 14, 1942 in Cherokee, Kansas. He died on September 4, 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; one son, Frankie Ray Whiteman; one great grandson, Rycher Whiteman; one sister, Bertha Bearssand one brother, Earl J. Arthur. Surviving are: two sons, Donald (and Janet) Whiteman and Michael Whiteman both of Pekin; three grandchildren, Darlene, Michael and Mark Whiteman all of Pekin; two step grandchildren, Vickie Caulkins of San Jose and Janelle Conway of Miner; four great grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Jescica, Justin, Rhettick and Hannah; one brother, John (and Kathren) Arthur of Girard, Kansas. Mary was a member of Groveland Missionary Church. She loved to cook and clean her home.
