Mary Lou Mccarty

Mary Lou McCarty, 77 of East Peoria passed away at 6:53 pm, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at her daughter's home in East Peoria. Mary Lou was born July 31, 1936 in Manila, AR to Charles Elby and Kate L. (Smith) Williams.She married Jack G. McCarty on October 29, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA.He survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Carolyn (John C.) LaReau of East Peoria and Denise (Steve) Tumilty of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Michael J. LaReau of East Peoria, IL, Michael C. (Laura) Roth of Lawrence, KS, Ryan J. LaReau of Peoria,Michelle L. Davies of East Peoria, Starsha C.(Nick) Richards of Mackinaw, Trista J. Tumilty of Arlington Heights, and Tiffany S. (Tom) Miller of Tremont; three great grandchildren, Breckyn M. Roth of Lawrence KS, Carter and Castynn Richards of Mackinaw; one brother Jimmy Calvin (Helen) Williams ofManila AR; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Billy Wayne Williams and Charles Eugene Williams; two sisters, Lily Mae Hancock and Addie Lee Corter. Mary Lou graduated from beauty college and started her beauty salon on Florence Ave in Pekin with ten operators. McCarty's Salon was open from 1967 to 1975.She also owned and operated many local small business', including Seven Acres in Tremont, and three business,Pekin Liquor, Cole's Open Hearth and Courtyard Bar & Grill all located downtown Pekin.She was a very successful business woman but her proudest moments were being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 27, 2103 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin.Deacon Mark Wilder will officiate.Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with additional visitation 9:00 am to 9:45 am prior to service at funeral home.Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
