Mary A. Burke

Mary A. Burke, 84, of Pekin, IL and formerly of Chicago, IL passed away at 2:30 AM Monday, December 2, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Mary was born on January 14, 1940 in Cook County, IL to Forrest and Nellie (Bullie) Roberts Sr. She married Richard Burke on March 1, 1969 in Chicago. He passed away on October 4, 1995. Also preceding in death are her parents, daughter, Michelle Wojciechowski, brothers, Forrest Roberts Jr. and Floyd Roberts, sisters, Barbara Freeman and Patricia Jackson. Surviving are: two sons, Randy (Vanessa) Burke of Plainfield, IL and Richard Burke of Gary, IN; four daughters, Sandy Kanoski of Bradley, IL Jean Rollins and Becky (Wally) Thomas both of Pekin and Marylou (Julio) Guillermo of Cedar Lake, IN; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews including Nancy Brown with whom she made her home. Mary was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, word search puzzles, bunco and decorating for all the holidays. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM 6:00 PM Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chicago. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
