Marlene Thompson

Alma 'Marlene' Thompson, 62, of Pekin passed away at 8:01 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 1, 1955 to Earl W. and Mary Louise (Lee) Millsaps in Pekin. She married Randy Thompson on September 23, 2005 in Pekin. He survives. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Molly Brandenburg; one sister, Shirley Reuter; and two nephews, Sean and Jerry Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Randy; one son, Ryan (Brittany) Thompson of Plain City, OH; one daughter, Sarah (Brandon) Knapp of Peoria; one son-in-law, Don Brandenburg of Morton; five grandchildren, Cooper Brandenburg, Natalie Thompson, Remy Knapp, Tucker Brandenburg, and Nora Thompson; one brother, John Street of Washington, IL; one sister, Kathey Thomas of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews. Marlene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. She worked at Pekin Insurance as a business analyst for 31 years, retiring in October of 2014. She belonged to the Pekin Insurance 25 year club and had been a member of AA for 32 years. Marlene liked to fish, watch the Chicago Cubs play and crush on Adam Levine. Her greatest love and joy was being a Nana to her fabulous grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, and especially Playdough playtime. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Saturday March 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin with Father Michael Andrejek and Father David Whiteside as celebrants. A visitation will be held Friday, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Drive, Pekin, IL with a Rosary and Celebration of Marlene's life ceremony held at 7:00 PM. An additional visitation will be Saturday, one hour before the service at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Pekin.
