Marlene L. Shepler

Marlene L. Shepler, 76, of Pekin died at 3:57 am Thursday, June 24, 2010 at her home. Marlene was born on December 17, 1933 in Pekin to Otto and Helen (Pfanz) Kumpf. She married Richard L. Shepler on March 7, 1953 in Pekin. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard O. Kumpf. Surviving are: her husband, Richard of Pekin; two sons, Kevin (Barbie) Shepler of Pekin and Dennis (Cheryl) Shepler of Wellington, FL; one daughter, Judy Spann of Fort Meyers, FL; six grandchildren, Derek, Dominique and Brittany Shepler, Jamie, John and Sarah Spann; one sister, Brenda (Rudy) Korb of Rogers AR; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Marlene was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she volunteered on numerous committees and served on the church council. She loved gardening and spending time on the family island in northern Minnesota. She worked as a secretary for many years at East Peoria Community Bank.
