Mark Edward Lawson

Mark Edward Lawson, 61 of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:40 AM Monday, December 11, 2017 at his home. He was born May 21, 1956 in Pekin to Hillis and June (Templeton) Lawson. He married Penny Rigney on October 23, 1993 in Branson, MO. She survives. Mark was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by; his mother June; his wife Penny, three daughters, Sierra (Brady Russo) Lawson of Pekin, Amanda Vignassi of Chatham, IL. and Amy (Troy Del Mastro) Vignassi of Pekin; two sons, Daniel Vignassi of Pekin and Benjamin (Amy) Vignassi of Leesburg, IN.; six grandchildren, Isaiah, Tristan, KayLynn, Bradley, Danielle and Zachary Vignassi; one brother, Gary Lawson of Pekin, and one sister, Carol (Timothy) Reed of Pekin. Mark attended driving school in California, earning his Commercial Drivers License. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 30 years at Star Transport Inc. and lastly at Nussbaum Transportation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and clay target shooting. He liked to listen to music, especially classic rock and worked as a DJ in the early 80's at the Ramada Inn. Mark was a driver, he loved to drive anywhere, anytime. His greatest treasure was his family and always looked forward to time with them when he returned home from the road every 2 weeks. At his request, there will be no services. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made in his name to Peoria Rescue Ministries, P.O. Box 837, Peoria, IL. 61652-0837.
