Marjorie B. Gent, 93, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:40 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Hallmark House Nursing Center. Marjorie was born on November 4, 1921 in Joplin, MO to Wayne and Beatrice (Winters) Roelofson. She married David Gent on July 21, 1946 in Pekin, IL. He passed away on December 24, 1990. Also preceding in death are her parents, one son, Curtis Gent, one brother, Wayne Roelofson and one sister, Betty Bennet. Surviving is: one daughter, Karen (David) Champlin of Pekin; two sisters, Helen Adams of Pekin and Norma Carter of Conway, AR; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Marjorie was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Rebecca Circle. She was also a member of the Lyn-Mar Society of Red Hats, Pekin Chapter of AARP and Kings Daughters. She enjoyed sewing, pinochle, crossword puzzles and reading. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. James McClarey and Rev. Judy Doyle officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
