Marion Eldredge

Marion R. 'Sis' Eldredge, 94 of 1540 El Camino Dr. died at 4:00 pm Friday, June 13, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL She was born on October 30, 1919 in Pekin to John and Stella (Harmon) Hancock.She married Floyd C. Eldredge on November 24, 1938 in Pekin.He preceded her in death on April 9, 2004. Surviving are two sons, Paul (and Martha) Eldredge of Newburg, MD and Jerry (and Peggy) Eldredge of Pekin; six grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker and wonderful caring mother.She enjoyed cooking and especially baking their favorites - chocolate chip and lebkuchen cookies.Every fall she delighted in making taffy apples for her family.At Christmas time her children and grandchildren looked forward to her homemade peanut brittle. Marion 'sis' enjoyed traveling to all 50 states with her husband (48 of which they visited in their travel trailer).She/they made many friends throughout the country. Prior to retiring and moving from Illinois, Marion was active in the ladies Missionary Society of Calvary Baptist Church and Pekin Christian Women's Club. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Rev. David Carrington officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 6:00 pm prior to service.Inurnment will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
