Marilee B. Grewey

Marilee B. Grewey, 85, of Pekin passed away at 1:50 PM Friday, August 12, 2016 at her home. Marilee was born on September 26, 1930 in Pekin to Herman and Marguerite (Ehrhardt) Knapp. She married Charles Grewey on May 20, 1951. He passed away on July 13, 2000. Her parents also preceded her in death. Surviving are: two sons, Kevin (Roberta) Grewey and David (Brenda) Grewey both of Pekin; one daughter, Susan (Curt) Beeney of Pekin; two granddaughters, Diane Bohler and Nicole (Noah Green) Grewey; three great grandchildren, Xanthe Grewey, Henry Bohler and Alexander Jennings; one sister, Joyce Johnson of Pekin; one nephew, Christopher (Teresa) Johnson of Ohio. Marilee was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She had been a secretary in various doctors' offices. Her passion was music and playing the piano. She had served as pianist for Pekin Community High School choirs and St. Paul UCC choirs for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Glendale Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS or St. Paul United Church of Christ.
