Marietta J. Wells

Marietta J. Wells, 80, of Pekin, IL passed away unexpectedly at her home, Sunday, March 21, 2021. She was born on October 8, 1940 in Pekin to Victor and Helen (Glunz) Judson. She married William S. Wells Jr. on May 9, 1959. He passed away on August 1, 2013. Marietta was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Edythe Judson and Eleanor (Wilbur) Neikirk, and one nephew, Kevin Lutz. Surviving are : one son, David Wells of Pekin; one daughter, Dianne Wyant of Pekin; four grandchildren, Zachary, Carlos, Cecilia and Ivan Wyant; one sister, Ann (Kenneth) Lutz of Green Valley; and two nieces and one nephew. Marietta was a Christian woman. She was a generous, thoughtful, kind and caring person who was always striving to do the right thing. She loved planning vacations and traveling with family and friends. She was an excellent cook whose fried chicken, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy will surely be missed. Marietta was extremely close with her family, especially her grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin with Pastor Heather Robertson officiating. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Mariettas family with arrangements.
