Marcena Joann Petty

M. Joann Petty, 69, of Pekin, IL passed away at 10:00 AM Sunday, December 11, 2016 at her home. Joann was born on June 8, 1947 in Springfield, IL to George and Bertha Irene (McCafferty) Horrighs. She married Larry L. Petty Sr. on July 1, 1963 in Springfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. Surviving are: her husband, Larry of Pekin; two sons, Larry (Donna) Petty Jr. of East Peoria, IL and George (Diana) Petty of Pekin; one daughter, Laura (Earl) Wolfe of Pekin; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one brother, Steve Horrighs of Girard, IL; one sister, Cathy (David) Shinnebarger of Mechanicsburg, IL. Joann enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Jeff Leeman officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
