Malcolm J. Gillies

Malcolm J. Gillies, 62, of Pekin, IL passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Branson, MO while vacationing. Malcolm was born on January 15, 1952 in Elmhurst, IL to Archibald and Inez (Nilsen) Gillies. He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is: one son, Jamie Gillies of Sycamore, IL; one daughter, Crystal Bermijo of Pekin; four grandchildren, Cassandra and Malia Bermijo, Matthew and Brody Gillies; one brother, Jim (Linda) Gillies of Grand Bay, AL; two sisters, Cindy Gillies of Elkton, Maryland and Nancy Gillies of Largo, FL; special friend, Mary Jenkins of Pekin. Malcolm was a field service technician for IBM. He had been a DJ for Circle S Productions. He was a member of the 280Z club of Springfield. He enjoyed water sports, motorcycle riding, dancing, cruise ins and ham radio operator. Malcom's life will continue to live on through the gift of organ and tissue donations. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 2104 S. 14th Pekin. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, June 16 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin and from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Mid-America Transplant Services.
