Maggie "Meg" L. Daniels, 76, of East Peoria, IL passed away at 8:58 AM Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her home. Meg was born on September 30, 1945 in Green River, MS to Francis M. and Artis (Wilke) Castilo. She married John Daniels on January 14, 1965 in Tunica, MS, Preceding in death are her parents, one sister, Francis Compton, and one brother, Quitman Castilo. Surviving is: her husband, John of East Peoria; three children, Kim (Michael) Wheeler of East Peoria, J. Scott (Denise) Daniels of Brentwood, TN and Darren Daniels of Rockford, IL; nine grandchildren, Samuel Dee, Megan Joy, J. Andrew, K. Ryne, Joseph, Benjamin, Lucy, Elaine and James Daniels; one great-grandchild, Sofia LaKamp; two brothers, Gerald (Carolyn) Castilo of Dundee, MS and Billy (Christie) Castilo of Big Sandy, TN. Megs life in the church was defined by a faithful membership in the choir and an active partnership with her husband John teaching Sunday School as well as providing music as soloist. Meg was a former member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Peoria and First Baptist Church in Pekin. She is a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, February, 3, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 2nd at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritans Purse International Relief or Love Worth Finding Ministries.
