M. Imogene Gebhardt

M. Imogene Gebhardt, 82, of Springfield, IL and formerly of Pekin passed away at 12:48 AM Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at River Birch Senior Living in Springfield where she had been a resident for five years. Imogene was born on June 4, 1930 in Pekin, IL to Anderson Jacob and Francis Vera (Sanders) Cremeens. She was the youngest of six children. She married Norman R. Gebhardt on May 8, 1948 in Pekin. He preceded her in death in 2006. He was the love of her life. Imogene was a homemaker and 'kept the books' for the family business, Gebhardts Poultry, in which she and her husband were co-owners. Her family was the center of her life. She was an avid golfer for many years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. She is survived by one sister, Mary Penwell of Richland, MI, one son, Rick (Debra) Gebhardt of Pekin, one daughter, Andrea (Gary) Tinervin of Springfield, three grandsons, Craig Gebhardt of Pekin, Brandon (Leslie) Gebhardt of Colorado Springs, CO, Clayton (Lisa) Tinervin of Washington, IL, one granddaughter, Leslie (tony) Taylor of Athens, IL and five great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2013 at Lakeview Cemetery. A casual celebration of life for friends and family to gather and share stories and memories of Imogene will be held at the Pekin Moose Lodge from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Friday, March 22.
