Lucy Lee Mccrea

Lucy Lee McCrea, 95 of Peoria passed away at 12:51 pm, Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at her home. She was born to Howard and Lucille (Calaway) Austin in Peoria on June 15, 1929. Lucy married Paul McCrea on Oct 5, 1956 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death in 1970. She was also preceded in death by; her parents; one son, Steve; two brothers, Thomas and James; and her Aunt Erma Callaway. Lucy is survived by; one son, Richard McCrea of Peoria; two daughters, Leila McCrea of Ecuador, and Amy (Tom) Voth of San Diego; four grandchildren, Stephanie McCrea, Rachel McCrea, Natalie Voth, and Stephani Baker; three great-grandchildren, Jessi Stokes, Jocelyn Sullivan, and Jasmine Stokes; one great great-grandchild, Freya Stokes and her two cats, Pickle and Dolly Parton. Lucy worked at Caterpillar in the Accounting department for many years. She was a participant and past President of the Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria. Lucy was an avid reader who enjoyed Art and Music, especially Willie Nelson, and Jazz. She collected kaleidoscopes and was an Award-Winning Rose Society Member. Over her lifetime, she traveled the world extensively. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. A lunch will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Universalist Unitarian Church in Peoria There will be a Celebration of Life at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria in June for friends and family to gather to honor Lucys memory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria.
