Lucienne Marie-Louise Miller

Lucienne Marie-Louise Gautherot Miller, 94, of Pekin passed away at 10:34 am Friday, January 30, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Lucienne was born on March 26, 1914 in Casablanca French Morocco to Ernest M. and Marie Henriette (Schmitt) Gaucherot. She married Harry M. Miller on October 1, 1945 in Oran, French Algeria. He died May 6, 1996. Surviving are: cousins, Mary K. Hoffert Horsman of Fayetteville, TN, Lorranine Hancock, Lila Beth Hoffert, Sue Ann Kortkamp and Nancy Healy all of Pekin; Close friends, Emilie, Maurice and Patrick Bensamou all of France and Sophie Bensamou of New York; Special friends Sandy Schwartz, Joanne Welch, and Dave and Cybil Mulvey all of Pekin as well as friends and residents at John M. Evans Supportive Living Community of Pekin. Lucienne came to Pekin with her husband Harry in January 1946. She became a United States Citizen in 1951. Lucienne worked at Caterpillar for a few years where she translated English parts lists to French and she also taught French at the Pekin YWCA. Lucienne was a long-time member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she was a member of the church Corona Society.
