Lorene Stivers

Lorene H. Stivers, 97, of Pekin and formerly of Peoria, IL passed away at 3:43 PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Hallmark House Nursing Center. Lorene was born on November 19, 1918 in Deer Creek, IL to Robert E. and Ethel P. (Young) Piper. She married Clarence E. Stivers on January 1, 1937. He passed away on May 21, 1968. Also preceding in death are one sister, Elsie Paulson and two infant sisters. Surviving are: one daughter, Patricia (Wayne) Blair of Pekin, IL; three grandchildren, Holly (Dan) Parr of Pekin, Heidi (John) Koch - Northrup of LaPorte, IN and Greeley S. Koch of Chicago, IL; five great grandchildren, two step grandsons, three step great grandchildren. Lorene was a member of the Second Church of Christ Scientist in Peoria. She was a member of the National Wood Carvers, Illinois Valley Wood Carvers, Midwest Tool Collectors Association and Missouri Valley Wrench Club. She enjoyed oil painting on old saws, canvas and wood. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services with inurnment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens at 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015. The arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
