Lois M. Mason

Lois Mae Mason 77, of Bartonville, passed away at 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital. Lois was born on June 8, 1934 in Rural Mapleton to Wilbur J. and Mayme (Pedze) Stranz.She married Curtis 'Babe' Mason on June 2, 1957, he survives. Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Mardee (Thomas Flaherty) Mason of Chicago; one brother, Larry (Pat) Stranz of Bartonville; one sister, Loraine (Duane) Schleder of Pekin. Lois was preceded in death by her parents. Lois was an English teacher for Limestone High School Dist. 310 in Bartonville retiring after for 37 years of service.She was a member of Illini Bluffs Scholarship Foundation and Maple Ridge Cemetery Association.Lois was a member of Kingston Mines United Methodist Church in Kingston Mines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Kingston Mines United Methodist Church with visitation 9:00 am to 10:45 am prior to service.Pastor James Reed will officiate.Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery Mapleton, IL.Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin is assisting Lois' family with arrangements.
