Lois F. Defrates

Lois F. DeFrates, 96, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:50 AM Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Amys Country Manor. Lois was born on September 25, 1927 in Minier, IL to Adolph Clarence and Margaret (Graff) Krueger. She married Carroll "Dude" DeFrates on April 11, 1948 in Pekin. He passed away on May 29, 1976. Also preceding in death are her parents and two sisters, Eleanor Claycomb and Ruth Nugen. Surviving are: two sons, John (Julie) DeFrates of Rocky Mount, MO and Kirk (Joan)DeFrates of Rockwall, TX; one daughter, Kristie (Jeff) Erickson of Pekin; twelve grandchildren, Carlee Smith, Theresa Holly, Dustin DeFrates, Sarah Erickson, Casey DeFrates, Joshua DeFrates, Matthew DeFrates, Adam Erickson, Brittney DeFrates, Jason DeFrates, Charlie Brunell, Calla Walshe; and nineteen great grandchildren. Lois was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, making candy and playing card games with friends. She was always a loving caretaker for her family. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Heather Robertson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM 10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
