Linda L. Moffitt

Linda L. Moffitt, 84, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born on September 19, 1941, in Peoria, Linda was the daughter of Francis Oliver and Agnes (Kennedy) Brockmeyer. She married, William Max Moffitt, on April 22, 1961. Together they shared more than 51 years of marriage until his passing on November 30, 2012.

Linda was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, B.A. Brockmeyer and Jerry Brockmeyer; and her sisters, Nancy Gabbert and Janet Prater.

Surviving are: her daughters, Kimberly (Rich) Huffman of Peoria; Robbin (Bob) Martin of Peoria; her son, Ron (Stephanie) Moffitt of Bartonville; her eight beloved grandchildren, Rob, Bryon, Eric, Elizabeth, Mark, Jacob, Samantha, and Shay; and her seventeen treasured great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her faithful four-legged companion, Jan, who brought her immeasurable comfort and joy.

Linda devoted more than 30 years of her career to Thompson Food Basket, where she served as Head Cashier. She was known for her strong work ethic, friendly smile, and the kindness she extended to customers and coworkers alike.

Above all else, Linda's greatest joy was her family. She had a servant's heart and found happiness in caring for those she loved, whether by preparing a favorite meal, offering a helping hand, or simply making sure everyone felt welcome and cared for. Her kitchen was often the heart of family gatherings, and the love she poured into every meal reflected the love she had for her family.

A devoted animal lover, Linda shared a special bond with her dogs throughout her life. Her beloved dog, Jan, was more than a pet—she was a constant companion and treasured friend. Linda delighted her family by sending greeting cards signed from Jan, a tradition that brought laughter, smiles, and lasting memories to those fortunate enough to receive them.

In accordance with Linda's wishes, cremation has been accorded, and no services will be held. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
