Linda B. Henderson

Linda B. Henderson, 93, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:56 PM Monday, May 2, 2022 at Pekin Manor. Linda was born on April 28, 1929 in Martinsville, IL to George and Gladys (White) Bishop. She married Merl L. Henderson on March 31, 1956 in Martinsville. He passed away on March 5, 2008. Also preceding in death are her parents, seven brothers and five sisters. Surviving are: one daughter, Peggy Broombaugh of Pekin; three sons, George (Carla) Henderson, Greg (Marla) Henderson and Don (Michelle McCann) Henderson all of Pekin; eleven grandchildren, Zachary Rutledge, Christine Henderson, Julie Ranney, Ryan Henderson, Westley Broombaugh, Lauren Phillips, Dylan Broombaugh, Mallory Morris, Danielle Henderson, Ashlyn Henderson and Reaux Terpening. Nine great grandchildren Brayden Phillips, Maxwell Wiley, Lexi Phillips, Belle Rutledge, Maya Wiley, Ryker Morris, Carson Ranney, Maddison Phillips and Knox Morris; one sister, Wilma Shotts of Martinsville. Linda and her husband Merl owned Noel-Henderson Funeral Home from 1965 1998. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pekin Womens Club, YWCA and YWCA Reserves, Lyn Mar Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary Post #44, Past Presidents Parley, Tazewell Historical Museum and Education Center. She was a former member of the Gavel Club, Altrusa Club, Pilot Club, Blue Tri Club, Eastern Star White Shrine #83 and 8&40. Linda was an outstanding cook and baker. She often donated bake goods for fund raising events. One week she made and sold 29 pies and donated the money to Relay for Life. Lindas family would like thank the staff of Pekin Manor and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care they provided her. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be Lakeside Cemetery.
