Lila L. Behrends

Lila L. Behrends, 87, of Pekin, IL passed away at 2:17 AM Friday, January 12, 2024 at Carle Health Pekin Hospital. Lila was born on March 4, 1936 in Pana, IL to Floyd and Agnes (Riley) Gibson. She married Ronald "Joe" Behrends on May 29, 1955 in Hartsburg, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Gabrielle Eddy. Surviving are: her husband, Joe of Pekin; one son, Todd (Karen) Behrends of Pekin; one daughter, Lynn (Steve) Eddy of Paducah, KY; and six grandchildren, Jonothan Behrends and Jillian Schoon, Genessa and Daniel Eddy, Magdalyn Hemmer and Adam Eddy; nine great grandchildren. Lila was a member of First Christian Church. She was the past matron of the Celestial City Chapter #333 Order of Eastern Star in Pekin, past Grand Martha of the Illinois Order of Eastern Star and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary #1146 in Hartsburg. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM 6:00 PM Friday, January 19th with an Order of Eastern Star Service at 6:00 PM also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery in Hartsburg, IL.
