Leonard J. Klaybor

Leonard J. Klaybor, 73, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:54 PM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Leonard was born on January 7, 1946 in DuBois, IL to Theodore and Theresa (Liszewski) Klaybor. He married Linda L. Zick on November 15, 1969 in Palatine, IL. They shared 47 years of marriage with their wit and humor. She passed away on September 2, 2017. Also preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Stanley Klaybor and nephew, Matthew. Surviving are: one son, Jeff Klaybor of Pekin; two grandsons, Anthony and John Klaybor of Canton, OH; four brothers and two sisters. Leonard was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Navy and took great joy in serving on the USS Enterprise from 1964-1968. He worked for Amoco Oil Company in Peoria his whole career eventually retiring as an environmental specialist in 2004. His retirement was short lived and followed his passion of truck driving until 2010. Leonard and Linda took some wonderful motorhome trips and weekends camping with their son and grandsons. His grandchildren were always his biggest joy, often taking them with him on his trucking excursions. Cremation will be accorded and there will be no services per his request.
