Leona Kleiber,84,formerly of Pekin, passed away at 6:35 am, Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at The Christian Village in Lincoln, IL. Leona was born January 12, 1923 in Tracy,KY to Omar D. and Ada Byrd Carter Morrison.She married Charles E. Kleiber April 11, 1942 in Palmyra, Mo, he passed away August 7, 1993. Also preceding her in death were three brothers and one sister. She is survived by one son; Michael G. (and Kathleen) Kleiber of Morton; one daughter Betty L.(and Richard) Hamm of Lincoln, IL; three grandchildren, Michelle (and John) Parker of Leo, IN, Stacey Hamm of Bloomington, IL and Adam (Heather) Hamm of Collinsville, IL; three great grandchildren, Haley and Tyler Parker of Leo, IN, and Cooper Hamm of Collinsville, IL; one sister, Bonnie Thomasof Bowling Green KY, two brothers, Kenneth Morrison of Frankfort, KY and Donnie Morrison of Glasglow, KY. Leona dedicated her life to raising her family.She was a unique grandmother who savored every moment with her precious grandchildren.Time spent with her little angels included baking and decorating cookies and cakes, playing baseball and going for walks in the park.She took impeccable care of her home and yard leaving no detail unnoticed.Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, cake decorating and crocheting.She was a courageous person who gave freely of her time to friends, family and those in need. Leona was a cook for Pekin School District 108 for over 25 years. Leona was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pekin where she participated in the preparing and cooking of many church dinners and banquets.Leona was also a member of the Marinatha Sunday School class.
