Leola E. Downey

Leola E. Downey, 79, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:38 AM Thursday, March 01, 2018 at Unity Point Health Pekin. Leola was born on July 5, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Fernando and Maria (Huerta) Ordaz. She married David Downey on February 24, 1956. He passed away on October 31, 2003. Also preceding in death are her parents, one son, Derek Downey, one granddaughter and one brother. Surviving are: four sons, Kendall (Renee) Downey and Randall (Deb) Downey both of Pekin, Cory (Deb) Downey of Spring Valley, OH and Christopher (Tonya) Downey of Armington, IL; Deborah (Dan) Lohnes of Barry, IL, Carrie Moehring of Pekin and Kassie Westervelt of Sheridan, CA; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, two brothers and six sisters. Leola enjoyed doing cross stitch and quilting. Her family and grandchildren were the joy of her life. Private services will be held at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Cremation will be accorded.
