Leo Edwin Bennett

Leo E. Bennett, 94, of Pekin, IL passed away at 2:50 AM Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Pekin Manor. Leo was born on September 28, 1922 in Pekin to Jesse and Candace (Wineburner) Bennett. He married Betty Varney in Peoria, IL on November 22, 1947. She passed away on January 15, 2013. Also preceding in death are his parents and one sister, Wilma Campbell. Surviving are: two sons, Bruce (Corrie) Bennett and Brian Bennett both of Pekin; three grandchildren, Bo Bennett, Brody Bennett and Bree Bennett, all of Phoenix, AZ and three great grandchildren. Leo was a WWII veteran of the United States Army Air Force. He worked at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for twenty-three years retiring in 1988. When he was younger he was an avid softball player. Private graveside services with military honors will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
