Leia A. Stewart, 59, of Pekin, IL passed away at 11:51 AM Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Unity Point Health Pekin. Leia was born on September 18, 1962 in Pekin to Rodger B. and Penny (Reaktenwalt) Hoover. Her father preceded her in death. Surviving is: her mother, Penny Hoover of Pekin; son, Tomas (Bobbi) Stewart of Pekin; grandson, Ashton Stewart of Pekin and two step grandchildren, Kaylee Salter and McKenzie Coleman; two brothers, Dane Hoover of Pekin and Trent (Jamie) Hoover of Pekin; two nephews, Brayden and Bradley Hoover and one niece, Briella Hoover. Leia was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pekin. She had worked as a medical transcriptionist for Hopedale Hospital for several years. She loved animals especially cats and dogs. She was a member of the Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and a former member of the City of Pekin Disabilities committee. She was blessed to have Leader dogs walk be side her for many years. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM 1:30 PM Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Leias arrangements.
