Lee P. Mcdonald

Lee P. McDonald, 91, of Pekin, IL passed away at 11:28 PM Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Arcadia Care of Morton. Lee was born July 2, 1933 in Sterling, IL to William Harold and Geneva Bernice (Pryce) McDonald. He married Jennice M. Smith on March 15, 1958. She passed away June 24, 1988. He then married Shirley M. McVay on January 24, 1992 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Lori C. McDonald. Surviving are: his wife, Shirley of Pekin; one son, Greg (Wendy) McDonald of Pekin; two grandchildren, Derek McDonald of Texas and Micaylan (Jason) Ochoa of Morton, IL; three step children, Cindy Jurewicz of Pekin, Debbie (Kevin) OShaughnessy of Manito, IL and Roger (Nena) McVay of Normal, IL; five step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. Lee was a veteran of the United States Air Force as a MP during the Korean conflict. He was a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. 27 years and 7 months and retired in 1991. He also was a barber and served as Treasurer for the Barbers Union. He enjoyed fishing and traveling especially to Branson, MO. He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 89 for many years. He loved dogs. Private graveside services will be Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Lakeside Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
