Leah A. Garrett

Leah A. Garrett, 61, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:40 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Leah was born on September 26th, 1963 in Peoria, IL to Larry A. and Carol R. (Marliere) Clarkson. She married Konrad Garrett on September 29th, 2007 in Racine, Wi. Preceding in death is her mother, Carol Caughey. Surviving are: her husband, Konrad of Pekin; three sons, Matthew (Erica Ziegenbien) Scachette of Pekin IL, Jason (Carolina Vigil) Scachette of Arlington TX, and Nicholas (Carrie) Scachette of Eureka IL; eleven grandchildren, Brandon, Allysa, Maya, Andrew, Isabella, Tristan, Brice, Raegan, Owen, Audin and Ellis; five great grandchildren; one step-son Kevin Adkins of Wilmington DE; father, Larry Clarkson of Peoria; step-father, Patrick Caughey of Hanna City, IL; one sister, Lisa (Jeff) Rose of Peoria; one brother, Dale (Jennifer) Clarkson of Metamora. Leah was a graduate of Richwoods High School and Midstate College. She had worked for the Peoria County Tax Accessors, City of Peoria Code Enforcement and Pekin Hospital. Leah was a member of Northwoods Community Church in Peoria and had also attended Connect Church in Washington. She had volunteered at Central Illinois Riding Therapy, Wildlife Prairie Park, Junior League and Crittenton Centers. Leah enjoyed adventure and travel outdoors. She appreciated every opportunity to spend time with friends. She had the upmost love for her family, and was most grateful for the joy and laughter of her many grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Cal Rychener officiating. Visitation will be two hours before the service from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded after the service with interment to follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery.
