Lawrence P. Johanson

Lawrence P. "Larry" Johanson, 89, of Glasford, IL passed away at 9:10 PM Sunday, June 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Larry was born on May 8, 1934 in Hanna City, IL to Walter A. and Hazel E. (Beller) Johanson. He married Marian Miller on June 29, 1952 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter and Eugene Johanson, three sisters, Gloria Paustian, Jackie Johanson and Shirley Griffiths. Surviving are: his wife, Marian of Glasford, three sons, Dennis (Becky) Johanson of Pekin, IL, Kirk (Dianna) Johanson of Cincinnati, OH and Mark (Janet) Johanson of Peoria, IL; four grandchildren, Kristen Schrock, Eric Johanson, Kirby Johanson and Justus Johanson; four great grandchildren, Gavin Miller, Carter, Zayden and Noelle Johanson; one sister, Karen Randle of Washington, IL; many nieces and nephews; also surviving is Mark Grandy of Mapleton, IL who was raised like a son by Larry and Marian. Larry farmed in the Glasford area for many years and also worked at Keystone Steel and Wire for 35 years. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford where he served in many capacities including President, Treasurer, Deacon and on the building committee. He was a member of the Peoria County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family. Funeral services will at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 15th at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford with Rev. Ray Barclay officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 14th at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin and one hour before services on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 13221 W. Todd School Road, Glasford, IL 61533.
