Laura L. Gibson

Laura L. Gibson, 52, of Hopedale, IL passed away at 7:25 AM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Laura was born on October 27, 1970 in Canton, IL to Richard and Ann (VanOpdorp) McKibbon. Laura met Jeremy Gibson through their families raising standardbred racing horses. They were married on May 25, 1991 in Annawan, IL. Preceding in death are her mother-in-law, Sandra Gibson and sister-in-law Marnie Gibson. Surviving are: her husband, Jeremy of Hopedale; two children, Cody Gibson and Lindsey Gibson both of Hopedale; her parents, Richard and Ann McKibbon of Annawan, IL; one brother, Mark (Patty) McKibbon of Yorkville, IL; four sisters, Jodi (Gail) Taets, Val (Ron) Johnson both of Princeton, Paula (Mark) Vandersnick of Annawan and Colleen (Frank) Thurston of Mineral, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry (Debra) Gibson of Dahinda, IL. Laura graduated from Annawan High School and Western Illinois University. She worked at UnityPoint Health Methodist. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Delavan and Tazewell County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed boating, camping and watching Cody and Lindsey play baseball and softball. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. Her Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception in Delavan with Father Fredi Gomez-Torres officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM 7:00 PM Friday, July 28th at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Interment will be in Orendorff Cemetery, Hopedale. Memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for Lindsey in care of Jeremy Gibson or Illinois Cancer Care.
