L. Maxine Montgomery

L. Maxine Montgomery, 76, of 1406 Hazel St. Pekin passed away at 10:35 pm Friday, February 8, 2008 at Pekin Hospital. Maxine was born February 16, 1931 in Maud, IL to Herbert E. and Ula (Murphy) Deisher. She married Sam J. Montgomery on July 16, 1950 in Olney, IL. He died on April 24, 1998. Preceding in death is her husband, two sons, Kenny and Joseph, one grandson, Mike Garls, three brothers and one sister. Surviving are: four sons, Glen (and Stephanie) Montgomery of Pekin, Gary (Melody) Montgomery of Pekin, Steve (and Mary Anne) Montgomery of Arnold,MD and Ron Montgomery of Victoria, TX; three daughters, Sandy (James) Garls of Pekin, Linda (and Chris) Patterson of Pekin and Karen (and Steve) Osborn of Manito; two brothers, Bob (and Janice) Deisher of Mt. Carmel, IL and Jerry (and Delores) Deisher of Clearwater, FL; two sisters, Olive 'Toots' Byford of Albion, IL and Mary (and George) Kennedy of Miami, FL; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Maxine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. She was a member of the Concordia Society and Yesterdays Youth. She was in charge of the Alter care for several years. She was retired from the Mason County Health Department where she had worked as a home health aid. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting and bird watching.
