L. Louis "Luke" Brickner

L. Louis 'Luke' Brickner, 90, of Pekin, IL passed away at 1:01 AM Sunday, March 30, 2014 in the Emergency Room at Pekin Hospital. Luke was born on January 11, 1924 in Peoria, IL to William and Amelia Emilie (Bower) Brickner. He married Louise Duhs on January 1, 1949 in Peoria, IL. Preceding in death are his parents, three brothers and one sister. Surviving is: his wife, Louise of Pekin; one son, Robert (Jan) Brickner of Morton, IL; two daughters, Susan (Harold) Wertz of Pekin and Linda (Alan) Kupper of Dunlap, IL; seven grandchildren, Christopher M. Brickner, Timothy Brickner, Alicia Null, Brion Kupper, Michael Kupper, Jennifer Leach and Amanda Wertz; four great grandchildren, Bryan Brickner, Jensen and Xander Null and Morgan Kupper; one brother, Bob (Kay) Brickner of Mapleton, IL; one sister, Rose Bryant of Normal, IL. Luke had worked for 39 years at Keystone Steel and Wire retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin with Rev. Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. The arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran School.
