Kimberly R. Severns

Kimberly R. Severns, 53, of Creve Coeur passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 9:28am. She was in her home surrounded by all her loved ones. She was born to Virgil and Pamela (Wilhelm) Urban in Peoria, IL on November 23, 1970. She married David Severns at Sacre Coeur Church in Creve Coeur on September 12, 1991. Kim is survived by her parents, Virgil and Pam; her husband, Dave; her son, David (Brianna) Severns of Salem, MO; two daughters, Samantha (Coty) Severns and Emilee Severns, both of Creve Coeur; eight grandchildren, Rylee, Brayden, Zaydren, Lana, Trayden, Liam, Ashtyn, and Toryan; two brothers, Tim (Patty) Urban of Washington, IL and Jeff (Billy Jo) Urban of Pekin; two sisters, Paula (Tim) Schmidgall of Morton and Tammy Urban of Creve Coeur; and many nieces and nephews. She worked at Tazewell County Head Start for 15 years, last working two weeks ago. She was passionate for all the children she loved and served there. She was driven by her compassion for others. Kim was known to be the life of the party and was a wonderful storyteller. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a tremendous wife, mother and a doting MeMe. Family was her true treasure. Her beautiful smile was legendary; it was a reminder of the strength and courage she possessed. Her cancer battle the last four years showed everyone how to positively accept what life sends their way. Kim will be forever missed. A visitation will be held for Kimberly from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Wednesday, August 28 at The Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the same location with Pastor Chuck Tate officiating. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery, East Peoria. Memorials may be made to Tazewell County Head Start.
