Kathleen Mae Johnston

Kathleen Mae Johnston, at 2:45AM on August 2nd, 2018, was taken by an angel to her heavenly home. She was the only child of Joseph and Clara (Hunt) Hornung. She married Danny Johnston on January 19th, 1962. He preceded her in death on April 17th, 1998. Kathleen graduated from Manual High School in 1959 and attended Illinois Central College afterwards. She worked for various trucking companies including Flying Tigers Air Cargo and Federal Express for a total of 28 years. She was a member of the Peoria Transportation Club, the Pekin Traffic Club, the Peoria Herb Guild, and the Manual High Girls of 59 with whom she had lunch with monthly. She also attended Olivet Missionary Church and Faith Missionary Church. Kathleen loved gardening, swimming, sewing, quilting, and having parties. Her ideal day was spent planting flowers, checking her koi pond, laying in the sun, taking a dip in the pool, and having friends and family over to have food. Daniel Johnston of Cedar Rapids, IA. Jacob Johnston of Carbondale, IL. Five great grandchildren. Kaelyn Paine of Kansas City, MO. Joshua Paine of Kansas City, MO. Lindsay Schott of Bloomington, IL. Cyrus Schott of Tulsa, OK. Michael Schott of Pineville, MO. The service will be at 1:00PM on August 11th, 2018 at Faith Missionary Church. Rev. Craig Hislope and friend Joseph Beutel will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior. Cremation has been accorded per Kathleen's wishes. Burial will be at Swan Lake Cemetery immediately following the service.
