Kathleen Hazen Garner

Kathy Hazen Garner 62, of Martinsville formerly of Pekin passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Kathy was born to Harold and Sharon (Fasig) Hazen on June 17, 1953 in Terra Haute, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon, and daughter, Stephanie Hard. Kathy is survived by her father, Harold of Pekin; one son, Ryan Hard of Peoria; one brother, John (Laurie) Hazen of Pekin; two sisters, Christy Danz of Pekin and Deanna Tervo of Washington. She also leaves nieces, nephews, and a multitude of treasured cousins and friends whom she loved all very much. Kathy was a home care provider who gave from a generous and loving heart.She loved the outdoors and if you didn't find her home mowing, you can bet she was out in the woods looking for mushrooms, fishing, or hunting. Kathy was the artistic one in her family who often called on her for decorating advice and she always added that 'artistic' flair to everything she did. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin and graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1972. There will be no immediate services but a Celebration of Life is planned for this spring in her hometown of Martinsville.Cremation has been accorded.Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery in Martinsville, IL.Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin is assisting Kathy's family with arrangements.
