Kathleen Custer

Kathleen 'Kathy' Custer, 66 of Pekin, IL passed away at 2:00 AM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist Emergency Room in Peoria. Kathy was born on June 13, 1951 in Peoria to Premo Scariot and Betty (Ohm) Scariot. She married Lester Custer on July 14, 1973 in Peoria. Her parents preceded her in death. Surviving are: her husband, Lester of Pekin; one son, Daniel (Jackie) Custer of Pekin; one daughter, Dawn (Jason) Potter of Peoria; one brother, Frank (Maureen) Scariot of Ottawa, IL; three sisters, Jane (Bob) Aten of Pekin, Barb Tipsword of Peoria and Kris (Ed) Bock of Hanna City, IL.; six grandchildren, Bennett and Jackson Custer, Colin and Natalie Potter, Charlotte and Chelsea Custer. Kathy was serving as Deputy Circuit Clerk for the Peoria County Circuit Clerks office when she retired in 2014 after 18 years. Kathy enjoyed gardening, decorating, and sewing.She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and sharing the events of their lives with her friends. She will be remembered for her huge heart and as, perhaps, the nicest person anyone could meet. She had knack for telling long stories. Her children and grandchildren will remember her enthusiastic, lengthy questioning on every topic imaginable. She loved learning as much as she could about all of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew her. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday, February 2, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathy's name to American Heart Association.
