Karen Hunt

Karen C. Hunt, 68, of Pekin passed away at 6:00 pm Friday, October 7, 2011 at her home. Karen was born on August 4, 1943 in Urbana, IL to Carl and Lillian (Rogers) Kortkamp. She married Lowell Hunt on December 9, 1962 in Pekin, IL. He died on June 20, 2006. Also preceding in death are her parents. Surviving are: two sons, Joe (Michelle) Hunt and Scott (Debbie) Hunt both of Pekin; one daughter, Linda Helfers of Havana, IL; six grandchildren, Ryan Buck, Tori Hunt, Sarah Hunt, Lindsey Helfers, Mason Hunt, and Kristen Hunt ; three brothers, Gary (Sandy) Kortkamp of Rockford, IL, Jack 'Chip' (Sue Ann) Kortkamp and Bill (Mindy) Kortkamp both of Pekin; three sisters, Patti Kortkamp of Kansas City, MO, Mary Sigler of Columbus, OH and Cindy (Pat) Schillinger of Champaign, IL. Karen was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she served on numerous committees and was recently appointed Sunday School Superintendent. She also served as director of Wonderland Day Care for several years. She was a member of the Pekin Hospital League. Karen loved her family and enjoyed her pets. She was always excited to have sleep overs with her grandkids. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Rev. Dwight Borden will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Henderson Funeral Home.
