Joyce M. Wertz

Joyce Wertz, 80, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin. Joyce was born on December 5, 1942 in Pekin to Charles and Fern (Claton) Schumm. She married Alan E. Casto in 1963. She later married Eugene Wertz on October 16, 1974 in Pekin. He passed away on April 26, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Shelly Casto and one brother, Don Schumm. Surviving are: two sons, Edward (Lois) Casto of Peoria, IL and Mark Casto of Joliet, IL; one daughter, Stephanie Lundberg of Taby, Sweden; three step sons, Roland (Gale) Wertz of East Peoria, IL, Richard and Genie Wertz both of Pekin; one step daughter, Carolyn Campbell; two grandsons, Anthony and Alexander Lundberg. Joyce worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for thirty years. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. She enjoyed wood carving with her husband in earlier years and traveling. She loved listening to Elvis and Dolly Parton. Funeral services will be at Noon on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 14th. Burial will be Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
