Joyce Sevier

Joyce Sevier, 84, of Pekin passed away at 10:20 am Saturday, September 24, 2011 at her home. Joyce was born on May 8, 1927 in Peoria, IL to Jesse and Caroline (Kelsey) Holmes. She married Louis 'Bill' Sevier on November 24, 1945 in South Pekin, IL. Preceding in death were her parents and two brothers, Wiley and Larry Holmes. Surviving are: her husband, Louis 'Bill' Sevier of Pekin;five daughters, Susan Worlow of Pekin, Carol (Ken) Johansson of Spokane, WA, Mary (Robert) Truschke of Arlington Heights, IL, Chris Sevier of St. James City, FL and Donna Johnson of Montrose, CO; one sister, Merle Eskrich of Madison, WI; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joyce was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Pekin.She was employed by the Pekin Post Office for over 30 years. She a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary and a charter member of Tazewell County Government Employees Credit Union where she served as Treasurer Manager for five years. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Congregational United Church of Christ. The Rev. Jan Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Sat. at the church. Cremation has been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin.
