Joyce M. Martin

Joyce M. Martin, 87, of Pekin passed away at 9:45 PM Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Pekin Manor. Joyce was born on October 1, 1937 in Hillsboro, Illinois. She was born to William and Nellie Merle (Roper) Settle. She married Robert S. Martin Sr. on June 19, 1954 in Hillsboro, IL. He passed away on April 18, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandchild, Daniel Kinney; one sister, Jean Jones; one brother, Bill Settle; and one son-in-law, Danny Devos. Surviving are: two sons; Robert S. (Robbin) Martin Jr of Peoria and Michael (Linda) Martin of Tremont; three daughters, Elizabeth Jean (John) Kinney of Elmwood, Lisa Devos of Morton, and Meg Martin of Peoria; ten grandchildren and thirty two great-grandchildren. Joyce worked at Mr. Donut in Peoria for many years, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She and her husband were foster parents for many children. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, February 3, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Scott Shelburn officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Memorial contributions may be made to OSF Hospice.
