Joyce Kudela

Virginia 'Joyce' (Barchers-Lewis) Kudela, 68, of 1500 Terrace Blvd. Pekin passed away at 4:01 pm Monday, July 16, 2007 at Pekin Hospital. Joyce was born January 30, 1939 in Hannibal, MO to Charles Emmet and Oneta Nell Thomas Barchers. She married Walter Kudela on January 2, 1993 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are: her husband, Walter of Pekin; one son, Benjamin Adam Lewis of Tarzana, CA; four daughters, Deborah Sue (Bob) Lewis-McBride of Tarzana, CA, Tracey Leigh (Bill) Williams of Pekin, Lori Ann (Steve) Lewis-Simon of Calabasas, CA and Shelly Lewis Nielsen of Springfield, IL; one step-son, Timothy (Lois) Kudela of Greenfield, IN; three step-daughters, Rhonda Kudela and Christine (Randy) Morris both of Wenona, IL and Sheila Kudela of Peoria; eight grandchildren, Adam Haynes, John Fleming, Matthew Simon, Kyler Lewis, Taylor McBride, Feather Williams, Zoe Nielsen and Adam Simon; three great grandchildren, Brody, Ryan and Tyler Haynes; one brother, Daniel (Nancy) Barchers of Denver, CO. Preceding her in death is: her parents, one brother, Charles E. Barchers; one sister Letha Ann Bauwens; one granddaughter, Christina Michelle Fleming. Joyce attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. She formerly attended the Church of God in East Peoria. She was a former member of the Pekin Garden Club and the Jayceetts, the Crones & Cronies Red Hat Society of Pekin and Peoria Sewing Guild. In earlier years Joyce was a Girl Scout Leader for many years.
