Joyce L Hartman was born March 25, 1945, to Devon "Slim" Lowry and Ethel DuBre, both of whom preceded her in death. Joyce has two children, son James (Lisa) Hartman and daughter Jeanette Hartman. She has five grandchildren, Caitlin (Jackson) Scott, Victoria (Ian) Bailey, Miranda Edwards, Cazarae (Dakota) Beard, and Walker Hartman, as well as three great grandchildren, lsaac, Grayson, and Roman. She has one sister, Jan (David Garrison) DuBre, one nephew, Thomas, and one niece, Alize. Joyce worked in the Bakery at Thompson's Food Basket for many years and then later worked as a Baker / Cake Decorator for Schnucks. Joyce was very creative and loved painting, cross stitch, crocheting, writing poems and stories. She also was a woman of faith that religiously read her bible every day. She loved to sing and feed the birds and squirrels in her back yard. After retiring from the bakery, Joyce spent time working as a volunteer for Proctor Hospital with her niece, Alize. She also attended church on regular basis. Joyce has spent the last several years in a nursing home due to Dementia. For anyone that knew Joyce, she could make you laugh at her stories, be amazed at how talented she was in art and poems, and she always had the biggest heart full of love. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin with Rev. Judy Doyle officiating. A celebration of life with be at a later date. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made in Joyces name to T.A.P.S. No Kill Shelter.
