Joyce Barnhart

Joyce Barnhart, 81, of 1118 Summer Street Pekin, IL passed away at 9:05 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at her home. Joyce was born on August 4, 1933 in Pekin, IL to Glen and Myrtle (Karnes Evans) Reyburn. She married Ray Barnhart on November 24, 1951 in Creve Coeur, IL. He passed away on June 24, 2009. Also preceding in death are her parents, one son, Glenney Barnhart and two sisters. Surviving is: one son, Travis Barnhart of Indianapolis, IN; three daughters, Shelley I. Chism, Duvall L. Barnhart and Jocelyn ( Mike) Koetter all of Pekin; one daughter in law, Sue Barnhart of Pekin; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Joyce was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Pekin. She enjoyed playing bingo and attending senior dinners at the Pekin Township and Miller Senior Center. She and her husband spent their winters at Texas Trail RV Resort in Texas for many years. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, September, 8, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Mike Schrader officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Covenant Church of God,Mapleton.
