Josephine Marie Garcia

Josephine Marie Garcia, 81, of Bartonville, IL passed away at 1:00 AM Monday, January 30, 2023 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria, IL. Josie was born on December 22, 1941 in Kenedy, TX to Hignio and Dominga (Espinoza) Zapata. She married Juan Garcia in 1991 in Waxahachie, TX. He passed away at on August 26, 1996. Also preceding in death are her parents and four sisters, Felicia DelBosque, Elogia Trevino, Martina Quintanilla and Marie Gonzalez. Surviving are: two sons, Francisco Mejorada of Waxahachie, TX and Johnny Richard (Teresa) Garcia of Bartonville, IL; one daughter, Mary Ann (Paul) Salazar of Waxahachie, TX; four brothers, Onesimo Zapata of Waxahachie, TX, Natalio Zapata of Rice, TX, Rudolfo (Maria) Zapata of Avalon, TX and Juan (Maria) Zapata of Ennis, TX; twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. Josie enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved spending time with her family. Cremation will be accorded. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Waxahachie Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Josies arrangements.
