Josephine Troxell Battle

Josephine 'PeeWee' Troxell Battle, 90, of 2035 El Camino Dr. Pekin, IL passed away at 5:19 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the home of her daughter. Josephine was born on August 4, 1918 in Bridgeport, AL to John Price and Emma Florence (Williams) Troxell. She married David Grey Battle on December 26, 1940 in Tuscumbia, AL. He died December 20, 2004. Also preceding in death are one grandchild, two brothers and five sisters. Surviving are: two sons, Bill (and Lee Ann) Battle of Atlanta, GA and Joe (and Jane) Battle of Huntsville, AL; two daughters, Ginnie (and Charlie) Turner of Pekin, IL and Rose (and John) Frey of Huntsville, AL; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Josephine was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Huntsville, AL. While her children were in school she was active in PTA, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and the Methodist Church. She love to do crossword puzzles and was a fabulous cook.
