Joseph M. Woodward

Joseph M. 'Joe' Woodward, 68, of Manito, IL passed away at 8:39 AM Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. Joe was born on February 14, 1944 in Henderson, TN to Wilson and Elsie (Moore) Woodward.He married Susan Caulkins on January 29, 1977 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. Surviving are: his wife, Susan of Manito; four children, Craig (Christie) Woodward of Baltimore, MD, Chris Woodward of Manito, Holli (John Dorsey) Woodward of East Peoria, and Shad Woodward of Manito; seven grandchildren, Nick, Michael and Hailey Woodward of Baltimore, Samantha and Morgan Woodward of Manito, Luke and Allison Dorsey of East Peoria; one brother, Dennis Woodward of Arkansas; four sisters, Lavern Thieme of Washington, IL, Georgia Kiel of Peoria, Elizabeth Harris of Arkansas and Phyllis (Paul) Parrish of East Peoria; In laws, Marlowe and Alice Caulkins of Manito; and his faithful companion, his dog Bear Bear. Joe retired as a supervisor from Cargill Carriers in 2000. He then worked for AG Reliant in Manito. Private funeral services will be Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin with Deacon Mark Wilder officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
