John "Jack" B. Sheridan

John B. 'Jack' Sheridan, 83, of Pekin passed away at 8:15 AM Thursday, August 9, 2012 at his home. Jack was born on April 7, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to Bartholomew J. and Helen (Rak) Sheridan. He married Diane Lewis Stein on July 19, 1980 in Peoria, IL. Preceding in death are his parents, one grandson, Brandon Pollman, son-in-law, Rob Cagle; andtwo sisters, Daisey and Mary Jane. Surviving are: his wife, Diane of Pekin, two sons, Michael (Debbie) Sheridan of Pekin and Steven Sheridan of Palm Springs, CA; three daughters, Susan (Chuck) Wallace of Pekin, Julie (Jed) Antonini of Pekin and Jill Cagle of Pekin; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Peggy Jo Husky of Bel-Ridge, MO, Janie (Tony) Shaw of Las Vegas, NV and Sonja Weaver of Las Vegas, NV. Jack was veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Caterpillar for 45 years. He also owned and operated Sheridan's Heating and Air Conditioning for over 40 years. He then worked as an Inspector for the City of Pekin.Jack was associated with GalesburgAviation, now Jet Air, for many years. Jack was a member of the Normandale Reformed Church in Pekin. He also was a member of the Bradley Flying Club, Elks Lodge and Caterpillar Retirees. He was a licensed pilot and loved to fly. Jack was very patriotic and was proud to have served his country in the Army during the Korean War. A celebration of Jack's life will be held from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the PekinMunicipal Airport, 13906 Airport Lane (IL Rte 29 South)Pekin. Military honors will be conducted at 5:00 PM by the Illinois Army National Guard and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home.
