John G. Maas Jr.

John G. Maas Jr., 83, of Green Valley, IL passed away at 6:23 PM Monday, March 2, 2026 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

John was born on June 23, 1942 in Pekin to John G. and Mary E. (Adcock) Maas Sr. He married Pearlene Bailey on June 24, 1962 in Pekin. She passed away on February 28, 1998. He then married Pamela Connett Poulsen on July 6, 2002 in Peoria.

Preceding in death are his parents, wife Pearlene, two grandsons, PJ Alvey and Elijah Luczaj, one sister, Yvonne Morris and one brother, Larry D. Maas.

Surviving are: his wife, Pamela of Green Valley; one son, Jon (Michelle) Maas of Mackinaw; two daughters, Melissa (Rick) Williams of Bartonville and Melissa (Bill) Bornder of Creve Coeur; three grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan) Beyer of East Peoria, Ryan (Jenna) Maas of Woodridge, IL and Ethan Maas of Washington, IL; one sister, Diana (Gary) Mathison of Bradenton, FL.

John served as a dedicated service advisor at Ray Dennison Chevrolet for more than twenty years, retiring in 2005. He found great joy in tending to his garden and caring for his yard, where he spent many peaceful hours. A passionate sports enthusiast, he especially loved cheering for Fighting Illini basketball, the Minnesota Vikings, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He also had a deep appreciation for NASCAR and enjoyed spending time hunting, pursuits that brought him both excitement and relaxation.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2026 at Glendale Memorial Gardens Chapel with Rev. Stephen Barch officiating. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with John’s arrangements.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
